Top 50 Finalist SAA Artists of the Year 2025

The SAA (Supporting All Artists) has announced the top 50 finalists for the prestigious "Artists of the Year 2025" award.

My painting ‘Insert Coin to Begin’ is in the top 50 of the SAA (Supporting All Artists) Artists of the Year 2025!

As a result of making the top 50 this painting is eligible for The People's Choice Award. After my success with The British Art Prize with this award I'm excited to start another voting campaign when voting opens on 23rd June.

A huge thank you to the The SAA for this amazing opportunity - it means so much to make it to the top 50. As selection of finalist artworks will be exhibited at the Artists of the Year and Cass Art Prize Exhibition (who own SAA) in October. More information coming soon...

This painting captures another unique moment of Newquay; the tacky brilliance and small thrills only experienced in an amusement arcade. The title, "Insert Coin to Begin," invites the viewer into the painting like a game waiting to start. A time capsule of fun and chance, we all have our favourite arcade game, I’m partial to the 2p machine. It’s all about that holiday nostalgia of an evening wandering through a seaside town.

Those local to Newquay will recognise this arcade near the train station, opposite Aldi. Watch out - I’ll be asking for votes again soon - as there is a People’s Choice Award up for grabs for this competition as well!

Apologies for the extra step, I know it’s a pain, but it would mean so much if you vote for my painting!

Lots of time to share with as many people as possible! ;-)
