Newquay Tretherras invites you to there wonderful annual Christmas Winter Craft Fayre.
"Start your Christmas shopping at one of the biggest and oldest craft fayres in Cornwall or grab a few stocking fillers while shopping local. With four halls to explore over the two day event, there's something for everyone from our 120 local artisan traders."
Claire and I are looking forward to this. There are so many makers and crafters, it's always a treat to see what everyone is up to. I often spend some of my profit on food.
Prep
It takes a lot of prep to get ready for any craft fair or exhibition, even when you've got experience under your belt. I like to have a little plan written down for the setup - it's easy on the day to forget all your carefully laid plans in the rush of the moment. Below is my slightly cryptic plan - but it makes sense to me!
It's also important to ensure you are displaying your products in the best way possible, and this is something which feels like a constant challenge. This year I discovered this little wooden structure in a charity shop and with a little bit of minor DIY (which is about all I can manage) - I've got a nice display for my small hand painted baubles.
Location
Come and say hello this weekend, Claire and I will be there Saturday and Sunday! It's the only craft fair we're doing this year, so a rare chance to meet and purchase directly from us.
Food
- Kabyn Café - Previously the Hungry Horsebox Co. from Hayle is joining us for the whole weekend to keep you topped up with Caffeine, hot street food, and some sweet treats.
- Xanders Diner from Newquay is also pitching up alongside Kabyn to provide a festive spin on burgers and hot dogs (how did we never think about pigs in blanket hot dogs?)
- Load-A Waffle is returning for 2023, only on Sunday, to provide you with those super scrummy waffles and coffees.
This year the school canteens will only be providing a grab-and-go style offering in the event hall - offering mince pies, chocolate biscuits, and teas/coffees, with a 50p saving if you bring your own reusable cup - I must remember to do that!
