Arch Rock Perranporth Tote Bag

Cornish art by British contemporary artist Diane Griffiths. After dropping off some paintings and gifts to the Colour and Space Gallery in Perranporth, it was a crisp fresh but sunny day so we decided to go for a walk. It also gave me an opportunity to take some photos and get painting inspiration. I took several photos of Arch Rock and Chapel Rock from the beach and there was something about the light and shadows of the day which inspired me to create this painting the same weekend. It was one of those paintings which came together very quickly - I knew what I wanted from it and was really pleased with the result. The brilliant blues contrast nicely with the beiges of the rocks and sand. If you look closely you can see the Cornish flag on Chapel Rock and a few people walking on the sand on the other side of the estuary.
