Cornish art by British contemporary artist Diane Griffiths. Fistral Beach has an extensive lifeguard presence throughout the spring to autumn, there are often two RNLI trucks covering the length of the beach. They are such an important part of daily beach life I often like to include at least one of the trucks in my beachscapes, as well as the red and yellow and/or the black and white flags which signal areas of the sea for swimming, bodyboarding or surfing. In this painting I wanted to capture the height of summer, Fistral at its busiest, depicting the season of summer. The original painting was exhibited as one of the 24 finalists in the 'Seasons' Art Competition, curated by The Artist Lounge and exhibited at King House Gallery, Stratford-upon-Avon from the 30th April - 8th May 2021.
