Killacourt is a little oasis within the bustle of Newquay town centre. Offering small artisan retail outlets, a bandstand and outstanding views across Newquay from the green. The coastline curves in the background, with scattered lights from houses on the cliffs overlooking the harbour. On the right you can just about see the iconic ‘The Island’ nautical bolthole, peaking out in the bay, with its private suspension footbridge connecting it to the mainland.
But what really catches my eye at night are the sleek, minimalist benches, lit from beneath, usually a green light, but one evening they were in blue - and I knew that had to be a painting - like a blue lit runway into the canvas!
